Sofy.tv now has more films that ever!

We are dedicated to adding as many films as possible to our exciting new short film video streaming site. To date, we have amassed over 500 films and counting. Our aim is to ensure that no matter how many you watch, there is always a steady supply of new films for you to enjoy.

This week, we are proud to announce the addition of several new comedies as well as a few exciting thrillers and drama shorts. Many of these films are award winning and are certain to score well with our members.

THE PERFECT DAY (2016)

Director – Ignacio Redondo

Spain, 12 min – Comedy

This hilarious short comedy tells the tale of the most important day in the life of David. He is about to seal a $10 million deal with a Japanese company that will make him for life. As David’s perfect day gets underway, little does he realized that he could be about to have the worst day of his life.

AURELIA (2016)

Director – Bruno Trivelli

Canada, 14 min – Drama

This excellent film is a touching story about the final days of the life of an elderly biologist who has terminal brain cancer. As the cancer begins to make him delusionary, the biologist mistakes a cleaner for his daughter and tries to come to terms with their relationship.

EPHEMERAL (2017)

Director Antonio Darwiche

United States, 16 min – Drama, Thriller

Psychiatrist Sydney Garland expects today to be much like any other. After an armed man enters his office, Garland is forced to confront an alarming situation where the penalty for saying or doing the wrong thing could be severe.

Writer/director Antonio Darwiche’s best short so far, and one that shows just how mature and innovative he has become.

GHOST I DON’T REMEMBER (2015)

Director Jonas Trukanas

Lithuania, 15 min, Comedy, Thriller

This interesting ghost story is a real treat to all those who love the comedy horror genre.

An elderly woman by the name of Vilmute discovers that her home is haunted. The ghost soon becomes an increasing nuisance by keeping her awake all night and smoking inside. Finally, Vilmute decides to fight back to restore her home to its former peace. Only when it is too late does the ghost realize that she has picked on the wrong grandmother.

MAREN (2018)

Director Ludo Vici

Germany, 23 min – Drama

Expectations were running high when writer/director Ludo Vici announced the completion of his 4th short film. His 2017 film ‘Number 85’ managed to win a slew of award nominations which included being part of the official selection for the Los Angeles Film Festival.

His 2018 film ‘Maren’ could be the short movie that catapults Vici into mainstream feature filmmaking. At 27 minutes in length, it is also one of his longest films to date.

After a young woman arrives at a restaurant where she is to meet her husband for dinner, she receives a call to say that he has been in killed in an accident. No sooner than she has put the phone is she visited by a man who claims to be death.

LOST DOGS (2017)

Director Cullan Bruce

United States, 15 min – Drama

This much loved short is now available on the Sofy.tv platform. Director Cullan Bruce has created a wonderful short that jumps back and forth between drama and comedy.

The film tells the story of a young woman who wants to escape her overbearing mother. After her bother arrives she sees a way to win her freedom. She agrees to clear her brother’s debt in exchange for his help. Little does she know that this act is going to drag her into harm’s way.

PORCELAIN STARE (2017)

Director Robin Rippmann

Switzerland, 5 min – Horror, Thriller

Porcelain Stare is director Robin Ripmann’s first short feature film. The film is a horror thriller that tells the tale of a young girl who is invited to tea by an elderly woman. After she arrives, she quickly discovers that the old woman has a terrible secret.

This wonderfully filmed short is a must for all horror short film fans.

GLOW (2018)

Director Tessa Glinoer

United Kingdom, 4 min – Drama, Mystery, Romance

This bizarre tale of a man who finds himself running through the streets of London following a glow of light in order to save his relationship has so far managed to bag 3 awards. While this bizarre tale might not be to everyone taste, it is an innovative move that many will love.

TRAM (2012)

Director Michaela Pavlátová

France, 7 min – Comedy, Experimental

The beauty of short film is the constant originality that it throws up. Tram is just one of the many examples. This wonderfully done animated short tells the story of an uninspired tram driver who just goes about her job driving passengers around.

One day, after the ticketing machine creates a rhythm, the driver suddenly enters a strange fantasy that fills her with joy and inspiration.

FORGET ME (2018)

Director DC Brandon

Canada, 9 min – Drama

Winner of the Diamond Award at the LA Shorts Awards 2018, Forget Me is a tale of love and jealousy.

After a man called Nick decides to end an affair he is having with another woman, he never expects that she will take her revenge by sending one deadly email.

THE ROAD TO NICKELSVILLE

Director Derek McNeill (2016)

United States, 40 min – Biography

This multi-award winning short has become a Sofy.tv member’s favorite. A powerful piece on homelessness and the circumstances that drive people into it, The Road To Nickersville is a touching short that will change your perception of the pain and anguish guiding these unfortunate people’s lives.
