INFLUENCER (25 REVIEWS)

Dylan

7
Crisply made; well acted and photographed, with a powerful sense of foreboding. Will be enjoyed by those who enjoy the chill of waiting for what they know is coming.

The sucker

9
Briskly made, good looking and good fun. It's a bit of a shame that it relies so much on verbal explanation and the multiple twists aren't all that surprising - but it's all good entertainment.

Hooligan Hairdresser

9
Excellent. Sharp monochrome; sharp writing. Funny with a cargo of truth.

The Walker

7
What seems to begin as a slightly different way of making a travel film turns out to be something much closer to home. Nicely done, though I feel it milks it a bit at the end.

Black Road

6
A promising theme and a strong English seaside atmosphere don't quite compensate for a script which I feel wasn't quite ready to go.

Lucky Day

8
Good fun.

The Gift

9
Lovely (true) story. Great production values.

STOCKHOLM

8
Intriguing piece. Power, trust, possession, regret - it's all there in a compact 5 minutes.

Damage Control

7
The film asks important questions, is competently made and always watchable.

Riven

8
Well-made, convincingly spooky and scary.

SUPERVIVERE

7
As Georgina says, atmospheric and dreamlike, though at the end I felt as little as though I'd woken before the dream had ended.

In confidence

8
Well-written and acted piece about a relationship, about talking and not talking.

14 years and one day

9
Gripping, convincing, layered depiction of a time and a day and a moment in a life.

Edelweiss

6
Impressive production values, but it never quite came alive for me.

No sex

9
Sweet and witty little (tragi-)comedy. Nicely staged and produced. Don't miss it...

Bonk!

8
A neat little sketch, with nothing wasted...

KNH (What remains from the walls)

7
A contemplative visual poem about a crumbling house. Mysterious; dwells a little too long once the point has been made, but haunting.

Porcelain Stare

8
Skillful creepy build-up to a twist which was a little bit predictable, but I enjoyed the journey.

In the Beginning was Water and Sky

9
Lovely film. Impressionistic, yet delivers its message with great clarity.

Embrace Me

7
The characters feel "real" in a piece that develops, adding layers and detail. I don't quite share the enthusiasm of some other reviewers, and I think the pace sometimes comes dangerously close to indulgence, but it's definitely worth watching.

Elisa

5
It all looks beautiful, but as drama I felt it was rather clunky.

Kalb

8
Touching and simple, containing a few more subtle messages.

Foreign

7
Nicely filmed and acted. An important message, but a bit heavy-handed. Could have ended at just over two minutes in (no spoiler) with the same effect.

Tony

7
Nicely made film in the mystery leading to punchline mode. It felt a little familiar but, hey, it's only 12 minutes long...

The Orloj

9
Lovely tale, beautifully animated. It has echoes of the Eastern European silhouette animation of the last century.
