2. Gelato – Seven Summers of Ice Cream Love

This wonderful short managed to win no less than 30 awards on the international film festival circuit. It is a much-loved animation short that Sofy.tv users adore and is ideal for all the family.
The story tells the tale of several young Italian mountain climbers who end up conquering not a mountain but all of Germany with their sensational Gelato. It is not long until they have a thriving business and the future seems a bright one.
However, the dark clouds of war begin to appear and it is not long before Germany is at war. The film’s two main protagonists, Rosa and Paolo, who are madly in love, end up separating and doing their separate heartbroken ways. That is, until 60 years later when their friend Molly decides to take action.

After a young girl finds a letter addressed to her boyfriend, she is baffled as to why he has not yet read it. She decides to ask him about the letter and he is equally as baffled. She is unable to forget the letter, and after checking it again, is shocked to find that he has at last opened it. She becomes obsessed with what the contents of the letter is all about, an obsession that seems certain to end their relationship.
